Bisila Bokoko has a true passion for fashion and creatively harnessing the cooperation and power of the business community to support sustainable change. Her passion for human rights fueled her educational pursuits. She earned two Master’s degrees in International Relations and Business and a Law degree from Universidad CEU San Pablo. Bisila’s dream has always been to be a catalyst for change, working with global leaders to foster cooperation among countries focused on a unified goal of peace and mutual respect. Her African roots are a constant reminder of the responsibility she bears for working in an ethical way and inspiring others to do so as well.
Bisila Bokoko is the founder and chairperson of The Bisila Bokoko African Literacy Project (BBALP), non-profit organization whose mission is to promote literacy among the African people. She has focused her efforts on organizing people and resources to build modern libraries in Africa.
With 15 years of experience structuring strategic partnerships, creating and forging new opportunities for organizations in NY and across the globe, Bisila has proven to be an effective powerhouse as a global brand ambassador, spokesperson and business developer.
Bisila has been the recipient of numerous global honors including Ladybrille Magazine’s International Woman of the Month, Woman of the Year 2011 by MCP and African Committed to Excellence in 2011 by Face2Face. In 2010, she joined the wine business being the face behind a new wine, Bisila Wines and was inducted into the Movers and Shakers. Ms. Bokoko sits on the advisory board of many African, European and American organizations, such as: Macdella’s Cooper Foundation, Feacoba, African Development Institute, Empretec (UNCTAD- Geneva), Fashion for Development, NY African Fashion Week among others.
